For some time now we have been slowly working on a line of sandals specifically for women. We want women to have more options for footwear. Especially in more formal occasions. We are very excited to introduce you to the Wildflower Series!
We have developed the first three models of the series and they are available through our Kickstarter campaign. In order to produce a new line of sandals we are going to need to expand our operations. To do that we need funding. Once we get funded then we’ll be able to purchase inventory, expand our operations and offer these sandals on our website. Because we already have a basic operation up and running, we set a slightly smaller goal for our campaign. However, if we are able to raise more then we’ll be able to offer a larger variety of designs to the series and we can get better equipment and materials which will make a nicer final product. If you can’t back the project financially then you can share it with your friends. Any help is appreciated!

Aspen
The Aspen is so far the model that has received the most attention. It has also presented the most challenge in production. The basic structure of the design is the same as our Wokova and Wokova Feather sandals but the lace introduces an element that changes the entire look and feel of it. We will also offer a turquoise/teal version but we don’t have a picture yet. (The company camera had an unfortunate meeting with the creek on a hike! Comfrey
The Comfrey also uses the same basic structure as the Wokova/Feather but has a ruffle running up the main strap. This design is simple but adds a more energetic flare to the look of the sandal. We will offer the basic sandal in a few colors as shown and the ruffle will be removable so a wide variety of looks and colors can be achieved with one pair of sandals.
Laurel
The Laurel sandal is much different than the other three and looks more like a mainstream women’s shoes. We wanted to offer a cute peep-toe option that doesn’t squish the toes like most peep-toe designs. The upper is soft and pliable and is set back just a little bit to allow the toes freedom to move.

At the moment we are still working on fulfilling our kickstarter orders but the colors range from earth tones such as creme and chocolate brown to more vibrant colors like pink and turquoise.
Also! For the laurel, same desire for the 4mm as well as having the brown fabric replaced with a cream or white please? Thanks so much!
Can I please have a custom aspen made with a 4mm (thinnest) sole? I really want to feel the connection to ground still while in style. As well, will I be able to custom trim them to my specific foot shape? Thanks!
I just found out about your campaign today — congratulations on your success! All the designs look beautiful. I’m really glad that they’re not made with leather straps…can you confirm that they are all leather-free? I’ve found it really frustrating not to be able to find dressier minimalist shoes that are vegan or at least leather-free. Thanks!
I am looking for a pair for my wife – she saw the new Aspen model and might want to wait for them to be available. Her concern is that they will cost a significant amount more. Is there any sort of price-point available yet?
I can’t give you an exact price but they will cost more than they were made available on kickstarter. The Aspen is the most difficult to produce so it will be the most expensive model of the three.
Looks great! As an unshoes owner (2yr old versions) I just checked your site out and was happy to see your innovations. Showed the Aspen to my wife and she loved them; would love for Aspen in black – would be perfect for many formal occasions!
What types of soles are on these, and what thicknesses will be available? I noticed some of the soles look cream-colored all the way through, so I was kind of curious.
The soles will be either 4 or 6mm outsole with a ~3mm insole. The Aspen will come with a creme or beige colored sole similar to what is shown. They will all be flexible but will also have a small amount of cushion to them.
I’ve been waiting for sandals like this! I wish a little more details and larger photos were available. I’d like to know if the lace on the Aspen is leather or fabric and if the tops of the Laurel are suede or fabric? Fabric on sandals this close to the ground would be impossible to keep clean, especially in light colors, so I’m hoping it’s leather.
The lace on the Aspen is fabric. I’m not aware of a leather lace like this. We will offer them in darker colors as well so that they don’t show dirt as much. The lace is mostly on top of the foot so hopefully that helps.
The Laurel is fabric as well but it is offered in black and dark brown. We are looking into leather but it would be offered later.
Thanks for the reply. I don’t live in the city so I will wait for the darker colors, hopefully a rich brown. There is leather lace. It’s thin leather perforated in a pattern to resemble lace. I still don’t think these styles will work for anything remotely formal but they will be great for casual without being too sporty or masculine. I just avoid formal occasions whenever humanly possible because there is nothing socially acceptable for women that I feel good about wearing. These, however, will be much prettier for casual wear than my Invisible Shoes or Merrel Barefoot sneakers.
I am very much keen to get a pair! I live in India, currently I’m wearing a pair of xero shoes for everything. I through away my high heels and runners and all other shoes months ago and just rely on other accessories to look more formal. I have only one pair of shoes! It’s very cool, but being a lady, it’s a little inappropriate because of the formal functions that do come up. So thank you for working on this. I will consider buying a pair as soon as they are available online. I’m unable to support the kickstarter but I will forward the link to a friend who might.
We’ll keep the blog updated on the progress of the project. The Kickstarter campaign will end on April 5th and then we’ll be working on fulfillment. Hopefully we can have them available for regular purchase by the end of June.
Would you make these in kid sizes as well? Like toddler size 12, or kids sizes 1-5?
i’d love to see the Aspen in Purple. My kids love that color. Its very hard to find pretty kids sandals that are minimal.

Right now we don’t have plans to make these in kids sizes. We still need to do some work on our regular kids shoes. Even though they use less material, kids shoes are more difficult to produce. Until we can find a faster/easier method to produce them, we just don’t think people will be willing to spend the money on it.
That being said, we have had a few people ask about it so there is a demand. Once we get the Wildflower Series off the ground then we might experiment a bit. We might be able to come up with some simplified designs for kids.
